Mementia.

a place to keep what matters

Terms of service

Last updated: June 2026

The plain-English agreement between you and Mementia. Please read it before you start keeping your codex.

Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Mementia, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The service

Mementia is a private codex for photos, notes, journal entries, and the moments you want to keep. The app is local-first and stores your codex on your device. An optional Mementia+ backup can store an encrypted copy in your own cloud account.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you add, for the photos you choose, for respecting other people, for keeping your device secure, and for backing up your device if you want another copy.

Acceptable use

Do not use Mementia for illegal activity, harassment, stalking, invading privacy, harming minors, or storing material that violates another person rights.

Data and privacy

Mementia stores your data locally and has no access to your codex. If you enable Mementia+ backup, an encrypted copy is stored in your own cloud account, which Mementia also cannot read. Please read the privacy policy for more detail.

No warranty

Mementia is provided as is, without warranty. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from every error.

Data loss

Because the codex lives on your device, you are responsible for preserving it. Device failure, app deletion, or operating-system cleanup can remove local data. Mementia+ backup can keep an encrypted copy in your own cloud account.

Mementia+ · auto-renewing

Mementia+ subscription

Mementia+ is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly, every six months, or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel any time in your store account settings; cancelling stops future renewals and keeps access until the end of the paid period. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited once you buy a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies. If your subscription lapses, your existing codex stays readable and editable. Only new paid features pause.
